Sock Monkey and the Valentine's Day Cat-astrophe The clink of a candy heart landing on the table wakes Sock Monkey Superhero. Guilt jolts him to his paws. How could I have fallen asleep? His human had commanded him, “Monkey, keep my Valentine’s project safe.” Now, a fluffy tail pokes out of the box. Plink! Another heart falls. The box quakes like a volcano. “D-dddddo S-ssomething!” Cupid cries from atop the project. Dodging art supplies and leaping over half-eaten chocolates, Monkey snags some string. He waves the yarn in front of the box. Nothing. Monkey wiggles it like a worm... A paw shoots out. Monkey scoots back and wriggles harder. Two paws lash out. Monkey yanks backwards. With a rumble…out erupts... Catzilla! The feline plows through art supplies as she chases Monkey. Rose petals rip. Pipe cleaners shoot out like arrows. Candy hearts break. Racing past Cupid, Monkey snatches the angel’s bow and grabs a q-tip. Dipping it in glitter, he notches his sparkly arrow and lets it fly. Splat! It strikes Catzilla between the eyes. HISSSSS! Blinded, she slips over the edge of the table. Monkey scurries over. He searches below. Only the glint of glitter can be seen as Catzilla slinks into the darkness. Monkey returns to the Valentine’s box, “Come on Cupid, let's mend some broken art.”
